John C. Lincoln Health Network decided to take a proactive approach to domestic violence intervention with their employees, customers and patients. The video production was part of an employee education program on the importance of asking patients about domestic violence and how to go about it. First, domestic violence was clearly defined. Then dramatizations emphasized scenarios where employees expressed concern for an abused coworker, and clinical staff asked patients if they were in situations where someone was hurting them. The educational program helped to remove the stigma attached to domestic violence issues and open the pathways of help for its victims.
