AMSAFE Aviation controls a huge share of the aircraft seatbelt market. It was a natural progression for them to create "airbag" type restraints for passenger aircraft. This product promotion reel includes high-speed "crash dummy" sled test footage, complete descriptions of the systems components and installation, and cost analysis of operating costs. Much of the video was captured at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport under the stringent security measures of a post-9/11 major airport. The FAA has mandated some type of system be placed into service that will protect airline passengers in collisions up to 16Gs. AMSAFE's answer to this is the AMSAFE Aviation Inflatable Restraint, or AAIR, which inflates up and away from the passenger and is safe for people of all sizes, even children.
